GoodFood.sg

Home page

How informative is the home page?

It is not informative as it does not show you good food but rather ask you to vote.

Does it set the proper context for visitors?

No, instead of showing something as regards to food, the first thing that was "how has the 2% increase in GST affect your dining..." and I don't think this people search around the web for a voting poll like such.

Navigation
Is the global navigation consistent from page to page?

Yes, they are kept to the left sidebar throughout.

Do major sections have local navigation? Is it consistent?

The major sections do have local navigations and they are consistent.

Site organization
Is the site organization intuitive and easy to understand?

The site is very easily understood but the design and layout of the website isn't at all appealing.

Links and labels
Are labels on section headers and content groupings easy to understand?

Yes there is, the fonts are in very contrasting large and small.

Are links easy to distinguish from each other?

No. They all have the same colour.

Or are they ambiguous and uninformative ("click here" or "white paper")?

Nope.

Are links spread out in documents, or gathered conveniently in sidebars or other groupings?

No they are gathered nicely in a sidebar.

Search and search results

Is the search engine easy to use?

Yes, but in a very basic form.
Are there basic and advanced search functions?

Yes but you need to search in a basic before you're being brought to an advanced one.

What about search results?

Further links would be shown and you have to click on them to be brought to further details.

Are they organized and easy to understand?

Yes, they are very clear
Do they give relevance weightings or provide context?

They provide address and contacts.

Do the search results remind you what you searched for?

Yes, I even get to find where are all the other outlets found.

Readability
Is the font easy to read?

Yes, the colour contrast and font size allows easy readibility.

Are line lengths acceptable?

A little too much text but acceptable.

Is the site easy to scan, with chunked information, or is it just solid blocks of text?

I think there are too much text and the images makes the whole website rather messy looking.

Performance
Overall, do pages load slowly or quickly?

Quickly.

Are graphics and applications like search and multimedia presentations optimized for easy Web viewing?

They do have picture of the locations.

Content
Is their sufficient depth and breadth of content offerings?

Definitely not, I feel like I'm at a voting poll instead.
Does the content seem to match the mission of the organization and the needs of the audience?

The right sidebar consist of many links that remains constant throughout, this allows easy navigation on whichever page we are on.
Is the site developing its own content or syndicating other sources?

It's very own content and images.
Is there a good mix of in-depth material (detailed case studies, articles, and white papers) versus superficial content (press releases, marketing copy)?

I think the images make the website look rather unattractive and the colour scheme really do not appeal to me.

Consistency
Does the site have a consistent, clearly recognizable "look-&-feel"?

Yes, they layout and colours are kept constant throughout.
Does it make effective use of repeating visual themes to unify the site?

Yes.
Is it visually consistent even without graphics?

They include images especially of the places of the food area.

Visual Presentation
Is the site moderate in its use of color?

Yes, the background colour and font remains the same throughout.

Does it avoid juxtaposing text and animations?

Yes.
Does it provide feedback whenever possible?

(for example, through the use of an easily recognizable ALINK color, or a "reply" screen for forms-based pages)

There is a forum and you can mail in regarding any inquiry about the food area.

What are the strengths of the site?

I would say that the easy navigations to the different food type with the right sidebar.
What are the areas for improvements?

Everything, I think the website lacks exciting images and appealing colours, it gives a very mundane and boring page.
